USA-based plastic processing equipment manufacturer Farrel Corporation has announced details of a new CP Series II compact processor. The machine is a highly productive compounder designed for extensive dispersion of highly filled, highly pigmented materials. The processor provides tremendous control over product quality, processing versatility and energy efficiency.
The agent for Farrel products in the Middle East is the Saudi Salwa Company for Investment and Projects Development. The company has been working in the petrochemicals industry since 2006, and now has a strong team of professionals on hand. Farrel Corporation is confident that the processor will have appeal in the Middle East, and with the Saudi Salwa Company on board, Farrel will be able to maintain good links with customers in the region.
The CP Series II compact processor line is adept at processing polyolefin-based compounds with high levels of mineral fillers, additives and colour masterbatches, polymer‐elastomer blends and applications requiring high intensity mixing at low processing temperatures.
In recent studies carried out in conjunction with Omya UK, the compounder was demonstrated to produce compounds with the Omyafilm 705 grade calcium carbonate at 80% and higher concentrations in LLDPE at mixer specific energy levels of 0.076 kWh/kg. The specific energy level required to achieve these result on the CP125 is significantly lower than what is normally needed to process the same compounds with a twin screw extruder. As a result, utilising a CP Series II for this type of process offers substantial energy savings.
