From July 1, 2010, UK-based materials handling companies Motan Limited and Colortronic (UK) Limited will merge all their resources and expertise under a new banner of Motan-Colortronic Limited. The new company will be located at Chesterfield, UK, on the existing Colortronic 2-acre site. The existing Motan site located in Abingdon, UK, will continue to operate as normal for the time-being.
The management team will be headed by Karl Miller as managing director and the transfer will be in stages to ensure existing customers are supported in the best possible manner.
Merging the two companies has long been a consideration and is being carried out within the framework of a long-term business strategy. The products they offer to the plastics compounding and plastics processing industries are complementary. By combining their portfolios a synergy will be created and will enhance the ability to create end-to-end solutions spanning multiple market segments, for example, injection moulding, blow moulding, extrusion, compounding and other in-line processes.
