A Schulman Inc. (Nasdaq-GS: SHLM), a leading international supplier of high-performance plastic compounds and resins, is coexhibiting with The National Petrochemical Industrial Co. NATPET at the ArabPlast plastics processing exhibition on January 10-13, 2015 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Under the booth theme of “Passion for Plastics,” A Schulman is located in Hall 8, Stand 8B100.

“The Middle East region is an important market for us,” says Heinrich Lingnau, Vice-President and General Manager EMEA. “With our innovative products and technical solutions as well as our cooperation with NATPET, we can help our customers to meet the challenges the industry is facing in the region and help our customers to be more successful.”
- Schulman has developed a broad product portfolio and has built strong expertise in providing technical solutions to many industries. Company’s materials on display at ArabPlast 2015 will address a wide variety of markets and applications:
Specialty Powders will showcase its Cotene™ coating powders which are based on alloys of engineered thermoplastic polymers. In the Middle East, typical applications for these materials are rigid panels, fencing poles, air conditioning grills and in shore/off shore metallic structures for oil fields and rigs.
Cotene™ coating powders have been designed to be suitable for areas where premature ageing of standard coatings can be expected under challenging conditions such as:
- Intense UV radiation
- Sea side environment
- Desert sand winds
- Airborne contaminants
Masterbatch will feature three product groups:
- Polybatch® additives,
- Polyblak® carbon black concentrates
- Polywhite® white masterbatches
As leaders in the masterbatch technology for over 40 years, A. Schulman has achieved the most demanding performance requirements including FDA certifications as well UV, conductive, dispersion, and processability guidelines. Typical masterbatch applications include film, compounding, pipe, fiber, and injection/blow molding. Industries served count agricultural films, automotive, consumer products, and packaging.
Engineering Plastics:
- POLYFORT® extrusion grades, glass fiber reinforced and UV stabilized for profiles with excellent properties regarding fogging, low odor and defined heat conductivity.
- Innovative light weight material solutions featuring Schulamid® TC, which as a drop in replacement for standard glass fiber reinforced nylon 6 materials offers up to 10% density reduction.
- Both matt and high gloss surfaces based on A. Schulman’s market leading range of Schulablend® polymer alloy compounds providing designers an opportunity to generate high value paint free plastic parts. Constant antistatic, scratch resistant and dimensionally stabilized grades complete the portfolio.
- An unlimited range of flame retardant compounds answering the needs of all industries facing fire safety challenges.
- High temperature resistant ECOTRAN® PPS material for use in automotive and electronics & electrical markets that help to meet industries halogen free standards.
- Schulatec® materials for all applications requiring excellent heat conductivity without sacrificing mechanical performance.
- Ronfalin® C PC/ABS is the first thermoplastic material to replace fiber glass materials for sport goods such as professional cricket helmets.
- Schuladur® PCR is a PBT/PET blend using post-consumer recycled PET. It is often outperforming virgin PBT in terms of surface quality and mechanical properties.
An international team will be present at the booth to meet and inform customers about the latest innovations as well as the existing range of proven, high-quality products. In addition, the Masterbatch business unit hosts a customer event during the fair.
